Digital platforms such as online malls, social networking services (SNS), and the sharing economy play a vital role in our lives, and the legal issues associated with them are becoming increasingly complex. Based on our expertise in providing legal advice and information to domestic and foreign companies since the infancy of digital platforms in Japan, we provide legal advice on the development and operation of digital platforms, the preparation of terms of use and privacy policies, cyber security, and transactions on digital platforms, in light of current domestic and international discourse on laws concerning digital platforms, such as the Antimonopoly Act, and Competition Act, Consumer Protection Act, Act on the Protection of Personal Information, and the Digital Platform Transaction Transparency Act.
