We have a highly experienced and strong complement of employment and labor lawyers who primarily advise management (including that of foreign and domestic companies in various industries) on all areas of employment and labor law.
More specifically, our lawyers have a wide range of experience and expertise in advising on matters from daily or typical issues such as work rules, employment contracts, working hours management, job transfers, disciplinary actions, dismissals (workforce reduction), work accidents, issues relating to non-competition obligations after retirement and changes in personnel systems to diverse issues emerging in these changing times, such as sexual harassment, so-called “power harassment”, treatment of employees with mental illness, employment of older persons, non-regular employment, personnel management under a teleworking environment, etc. or actions, taking into consideration periodic legal amendments. Moreover, we frequently conduct employment and labor law due diligence in M&As and provide labor law advice based on the findings of due diligence, as we engage in advising clients in many M&A and corporate restructuring projects. Against the background that labor compliance has become increasingly important in recent years, we also conduct investigations and advise on the review and assessment of compliance status and compliance systems from a labor law perspective.
Our lawyers are not only specialized in employment and labor law, but also very experienced in large-scale commercial litigation and in handling corporate law matters. As a result, our lawyers are quite knowledgeable about various aspects of corporate activities that complement their employment and labor law advice. Accordingly, our lawyers are capable of providing practical advice taking into account clients’ business needs.
