Thailand is probably the country with which most Japanese companies are familiar, even among the countries in Southeast and South Asia, the areas that have been recently attracting much attention. Thailand and Japan have traditionally shared a friendly relationship, and there is a long history of direct investment into Thailand by Japanese companies. It is highly expected that, in the future, Thailand will continue to be one of the most important countries in the Asian region, and that the number of new investments and mergers and acquisitions by Japanese companies will increase.
