Outline

Data privacy and security are critical management issues that directly impact corporate value and brand trust. However, the burden of complying with increasingly complex and sophisticated regulations worldwide continues to grow. In Japan, an amendment bill to the Act on the Protection of Personal Information is expected to be submitted to the Diet in the first half of 2026. Globally, regulations are evolving rapidly, including the EU’s Digital Omnibus proposal, the expanding state-level privacy laws in the U.S., and India’s data protection legislation. At the same time, cyber risks such as ransomware attacks are escalating, requiring companies to strengthen preparedness across their entire ecosystem, including vendors and supply chains. This seminar will provide a comprehensive overview of these global and domestic trends in three hours, sharing practical insights to accelerate compliance and risk management efforts.
