Outline

In his second year, the Prabowo administration continues to enjoy high approval ratings. The riots that broke out in Jakarta at the end of August last year subsided without escalating into widespread criticism of the government, and the administration maintains stability.
Under such circumstances, various legislative amendments have been enacted since the second half of last year—such as the reduction of minimum capital requirements for foreign invested companies and embodying the outsourcing regulation in relation to the labor law—which are expected to have a significant impact on Japanese subsidiaries in Indonesia.
In Part 1 of this seminar, our Indonesian lawyers will provide an overview of the major legislative amendments over the past year. In Part 2, the Japanese lawyers with extensive practical experience in Indonesia will delve deeper into the impact that these amendments will have on the operations of local subsidiaries.
