Mr. Masato Kumeuchi is a partner at Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu. He acquired his qualification as a lawyer in Japan and joined Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu in 2010. He moved to California in 2016 and obtained a Master of Laws degree at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law. From 2017 to 2018, Mr. Kumeuchi was seconded to Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago, and to date, he regularly provides advice spanning a wide range of areas, including real estate law / J-REITs, pharmaceutical law, and intellectual property law.
With respect to J-REIT, he has been involved in real estate transactions, real estate finance, incorporation, public offerings, and M&As. He has also advised domestic and foreign real estate private equity funds on a wide range of matters.
Moreover, Mr. Kumeuchi is familiar with pharmaceutical and healthcare related matters. He has been providing practical advice to both domestic and foreign pharmaceutical and medical device companies. He is currently serving as an external committee member of a pharmaceutical company.
