Counsel at Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu, Saori Kawai was admitted to practice law in Japan in 2012 and joined the firm the same year. She earned a Master of Laws from the University of California, Davis in 2019. From 2019 to 2020, she was seconded to Sidley Austin in New York, and from 2021 to 2023, she was assigned to the Structured Finance Department of the Development Bank of Japan Inc.
She regularly advises clients across a variety of industries, focusing on project finance transactions, renewable energy projects such as mega solar, biomass, onshore/offshore wind, infrastructure development projects including PFI/PPP, and real estate transactions such as J-REITs, private funds, and real estate finance.
