Testuya Sogi’s distinguished career began with his appointment as a Public Prosecutor in 1986. Over the years, he has held several key positions, including Director of the Special Investigation Department at the Osaka District Public Prosecutors Office, Chief Prosecutor of the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office, Superintending Prosecutor of the Takamatsu High Public Prosecutors Office, before retiring in 2023 as Superintending Prosecutor of the Osaka High Public Prosecutors Office.
Throughout his career he has been deeply involved in the investigation and prosecution of high-profile cases, including bribery, major corporate crime, financial crimes involving violations of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, such as insider trading and stock price manipulation, and tax evasion.
In addition to his prosecutorial roles, he has also served as a First Secretary in the Embassy of Japan in Germany and as an instructor at the Legal Training and Research Institute.
