Our asset management team advises on a wide variety of asset management schemes and structures, both pooled and segregated accounts onshore and offshore, based on their expert knowledge and established experience in this area. We provide practical advice to domestic and international asset managers regarding anti-money laundering rules and other investment manager regulations; regulations on short selling, investor voting and other investment activities; the Japanese pension system and other rules concerning asset management clients; as well as regulatory development in various foreign jurisdictions. Our service broadly covers not only traditional investments but also alternative investment schemes, such as real estate and commodities.

In our fund practice, we provide various legal advice concerning the structuring, distribution and selling of various fund vehicles, including domestic and foreign investment trusts, investment companies, REITs, private equity funds and real estate/infrastructure funds. Our broad range of services include advising on preparation and filing of securities registration statements, prospectuses and other marketing materials for soliciting investors; setting up of various vehicles and asset management company; filing of registrations, notifications or other regulatory procedures in managing and/or selling the fund; and various issues relating to the management and operation of the fund. We assist not only domestic funds but we also support many foreign funds and vehicles. Our experienced fund practice team provides dedicated support, including fund formation and various documentations for foreign funds and vehicles (such as unit trusts, limited partnerships, investment companies and their management companies and GPs).
