Yoshitoshi Imoto is a partner at Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu. He advises on all aspects of competition law for both domestic and multi-national clients in connection with M&A, joint ventures and strategic alliance projects as well as cartel investigations and follow-on private lawsuits.
He has abundant experiences and expertise in handling merger control for high profile mergers particularly in pharmaceutical industry, semi-conductor and electronics sectors and highly concentrated chemical/metal and other materials businesses. His recent professional highlights also include counseling for both domestic and international clients in relation to international cartel investigations on electronics, financial products and auto-parts.
He is a graduate of the University of Tokyo (LL.B., 2001) and Harvard Law School (LL.M., 2008). He was admitted to the Japan Bar in 2002 and worked as visiting attorney at Slaughter and May (Brussels, Competition Group) from 2012 to 2013. He also serves as director of Japan Competition Law Forum. He is fluent in Japanese and English.
He has been continuously recognized by Chambers Asia-Pacific, Legal 500 (as one of the Leading Individuals in Antitrust and Competition) and Who’s Who Legal: Competition – Future Leaders 2017 and 2018
